Impostor Only
Just Impostor is a stealth survival game where you play as the impostor and try to eliminate the crew without getting caught. Survive until you’re the last player left. There’s no countdown, so you can watch the crew and choose when to act. One bad decision can expose you and end the game.
Attacks are only part of the strategy. Pay attention to timing, positioning, and sabotage. Watch where the crew goes, how close they are to one another, and whether anyone might see you leave a room. A quick elimination helps only if you can avoid suspicion afterward.
How to Win
In Just Impostor, sabotage lets you control where the crew looks before you attack. You can disable the lights, reactor, oxygen, or communications, forcing players to stop what they are doing and respond. The disruption may split them up, send them in different directions, or pull them toward the damaged system.
Use that opening to reach a target while fewer people are watching, then leave before anyone links you to the sabotage. Timing matters. Trigger it too early and the crew may fix the problem before you can act. Wait too long and they may move out of reach. Check where the crew is before starting an emergency. A distraction can give you a clear path, but it can also send everyone toward your position. Adjust your plan to the crew’s location each round instead of relying on the same move.
Trapdoors give you another way to keep your route hard to predict. These hidden paths let you leave quickly after eliminating a target, appear in a different room, or close the distance to a crew member who has wandered away from the group. Use them to change direction before anyone can track where you went. Still, trapdoors are most useful when you think about who might be nearby and where your exit leads. Leaving one room does not guarantee that you are out of sight; another player could be waiting in the next area. You can also use a trapdoor to avoid crossing a busy room, then return when the crew has moved on. Keep your movement deliberate. Sudden appearances may help you catch an isolated player, but repeated, obvious routes can make your behavior easier to read. A good escape plan starts before the attack, not after it.
Customize Your Impostor
Before a game, open your collection to choose your character’s color, helmet, appearance, and companion. These choices change how your impostor looks, but not the goal: stay unnoticed, use the map wisely, and outlast the crew. Customize your character before the match starts, then adapt once the crew begins moving.
These cosmetic choices give your impostor a personal look before the action begins. Try different combinations in your collection and settle on the one you want to take into battle. The items affect appearance, while your decisions during the match determine how well you use sabotage, movement, and timing.
Controls
The controls handle movement, attacks, sabotage, and object interactions. Use the Arrow Keys or WASD to move around the map while tracking the crew. When you are in position, click to eliminate a crew member. Click a sabotage icon to trigger the selected disruption, which can draw other players away from their tasks or alter their movement through the area.
Press E, or the key shown on-screen, to use trapdoors and interact with objects. Check the prompt if you are unsure which key to use. Learn these controls before things get tense: movement puts you in position, sabotage distracts the crew, and interaction gives you access to routes and objects around the map. Keep your inputs deliberate so you can watch the crew’s movements.
