Loop Ghost Gameplay
Loop Ghost is a puzzle-platform game where your past movements help you solve later attempts. Each time you restart the cycle, the game records your actions and creates a ghost that repeats them. You control a new version of your character while the ghost follows the route from your previous attempt. Even a failed run can make the next one easier if its movements leave behind a useful path.
Build a Path with Ghosts
Loop Ghost gives you a room to explore and a puzzle to solve. Move around, inspect the switches, blocks, hazards, and exit, then choose what your first character will do. Press Space to end the cycle. Your movements become a ghost, and you control the next character while the ghost repeats them.
Give each cycle a clear purpose. One ghost can hold down a button while another character handles an obstacle. Keeping the button pressed may leave a door open long enough for the current character to pass. Each recorded path changes the room, so watch how the ghosts interact before planning your next move.
Loop Ghost rewards deliberate movement. A ghost repeats every recorded action, including detours. Use a short, direct route when a character needs to hold a switch or move an object. If a plan fails, check what went wrong and change the next cycle.
As the room opens up, you’ll have more tasks to manage:
- Activate switches: Stand on a button with your character or a ghost to open a linked door or keep a route clear. Check whether the button must stay pressed while you pass.
- Place objects: Push blocks where they help. They can block hazards or stay in position for a later cycle, so think about where each block needs to end up before you move it.
- Handle hazards: Lasers can reset the current cycle. Watch their paths, then use blocks, mirrors, and other mechanisms to cross safely.
- Reach the exit: After the ghosts have prepared the room, guide the current character to the golden exit. Make sure the route remains open long enough to get there.
Controls
Loop Ghost uses familiar movement keys and one key to end a cycle:
- WASD / Arrow Keys: Move
- Spacebar: End the current cycle and create a ghost
Give Each Cycle One Task
Loop Ghost is easier to understand when you do not try to solve the whole room in one cycle. Start by identifying what must stay active, then record a ghost to handle that task. Each path stays simple, and you can tell which action opened a door or moved an obstacle.
One cycle might activate a switch, while the next has another character push a block into place. In a later cycle, follow the route those actions created. The order matters: the switch may need to stay pressed before the door opens, and the block may need to reach its destination before your current character can cross safely.
Loop Ghost lets several recorded actions work together, but each extra ghost adds another route to track. When the room gets confusing, focus on one mechanism at a time. Check where each ghost ends its route and whether it repeats the action you need. A small change to one path can make the next attempt much easier to plan.
Normal or Hard Mode
Loop Ghost has two difficulty options, and the timer affects how you approach each puzzle. In Normal Mode, you have time to inspect the room and plan your turn. Hard Mode adds a countdown, so you must act before time runs out.
- Normal mode: Each turn has no time limit. You can inspect the room, test a movement sequence, and choose when to create your next ghost. It works well for careful planning, especially when switches or hazards affect the route.
- Hard mode: Each turn is timed. When the countdown reaches zero, the game advances to the next ghost. Focus on the actions that matter and skip detours that do not support the plan.
Loop Ghost feels different in Hard Mode because taking a long route can use up time before your character reaches the target. Choose the turn’s task first, then head straight to it. Normal Mode gives you more time to study the room; Hard Mode requires quicker decisions. Both modes use the same ghost-based puzzle system. The difference is how much time you have to complete each cycle.
