Wave Race Gameplay
Wave Race is a 2D arcade game about steering an arrow through hazard-filled tunnels. It moves forward automatically; you control its height to find a clear route.
Hold the button to rise and release it to descend. Time each change carefully, especially in tight passages.
Reach the end of each course without hitting spikes, walls, rotating gears, slopes, or other obstacles. A collision ends the attempt.
Controls
- Mouse, W, or Spacebar: Rise
- Release the button: Descend
- P: Pause
Choose Your Challenge
- Classic Mode: Clear 33 levels, each with a more challenging layout.
- Endless Mode: Fly as far as you can without crashing.
- Race Mode: Race other arrows to the finish.
All three modes use the same controls, but each calls for a different way of navigating the course.
Timing
In Wave Race, careful timing helps you get through narrow sections with less movement. As the tunnels get harder, try these habits:
- Look ahead for the next opening and adjust the arrow’s height before reaching an obstacle.
- Use short taps or brief holds in narrow sections. Holding too long can send the arrow too high.
- When obstacles cluster, aim for the next clear gap instead of making a large movement.
- After a crash, check whether you rose too early, stayed high too long, or dropped too soon. Adjust your timing on the next attempt.
- Take your time in difficult sections. Controlled movement helps you pass gaps more consistently and travel farther.
